Max Fan

I studied mechanical engineering at MIT as an undergraduate. After I graduated in 2023, I worked in the medical device industry designing and improving surgical instruments.

Right now, I am working on a program to automate the design of mechanical hardware. My vision is a text to CAD program that takes in design requirements and outputs an assembly of 3D models that implements those design requirements.

I have also been working on building a fully mechanical computer and a fully mechanical implementation of Conway’s game of life. I am very interested in discovering new mechanisms and exploring what is possible with mechanical hardware.

In the near future, I hope to design hardware for space.
